    Aloha

    I'm going to Hawaii today.

This is pretty much what's going to happen.  Yeah...I'm definitely a badass surfer.  Except I use a boogie board and ride four foot waves.  But other than that, it's the same.  :o)

Fucked up family relations over.  Kill me.

Got my PSAT score.  Did pretty well.  Too bad I'm not going to a U.S. university.

    Old photographs are so cool.

    Me to We

I'm in a club at school called Me to We.  We raise money to help build schools in Kenya, and today was our vow of silence day, where we don't talk for twenty-four hours to support the children in developping countries who don't have a voice.

Well, obviously the children don't look like this, but you get the picture.

I amassed quite a bit of money in my crappy, wannabe Unicef box, and I was quite proud of myself.

It's surprising how easy it is to keep silent.  I thought I was going to have a much harder time.  I do have quite a mouth on me.

  • Fruitcake Day

You know in the movies when someone is having a really shitty day and they're walking down the street in the pouring rain when all of a sudden a car speeds by and soaks them with gross gutter water?

That's what happened to me today, except it was a bus.

Nevertheless, I didn't scream or make a big scene because no one was around to hear me I'm a tough, independant person.

It was the finishing touch to make my day just that much worse.  The rotten cherry on top of a gross cake...a fruit cake.

Even when they try to make it look nice, it still looks disgusting.

  • Weather

The number one topic in polite conversation for Canadians is weather.

"Oh, it's a beautiful day out today!"

"Did you hear?  The news said it was supposed to snow."

    "It's miserable out."

I used to think that everyone did this, but now I'm not so sure...maybe I was simply experiencing ingroup bias.  I'll have to do some research to determine whether the weather is talked about in other countries as much as it is talked about here.

If not, why do we Canadians spend so much time talking about the weather...?

    P.S.  It's raining buckets.

    First Snow!

It's snowing where I live!  First snow of the year.  It always makes me so happy.

    Snow is Falling

Whistler is opening this weekend, I believe.  Hopefully, I'll be able to do a little skiing up there before the hoards of olympians take over.

    Snowman and Sparrow

Snow is so beautiful.  It makes everything seem good and true.  And, of course, silent.  It's almost eerie, but I love Snow Silence.

As a matter of fact, I love winter.
